Jeremy has 10 years experience with start-ups. In 1998 he co-founded Epic Digital which developed a smart standalone Internet camera for low end security applications that was mass produced (20K units) in Australia and Singapore. Joint ventures with Hills Industries (forming Epic World Australia - see epicworld.com.au) and SingTel (forming Epic World Singapore) were established. This was accomplished in all within 4 years and began on a shoestring budget (less than NZ$5K) from a garage setup. Since 2003 Jeremy has established two other significant web ventures, theopensauce.com, builderscrack.co.nz, upstartgo.com (this site) and liquidid.net. Builderscrack is a commercial venture that has rapidly become a profitable business. The OpenSauce is a non-profit venture that has received international media attention from BBC World. LiquidID is a novel OpenID provider that guarantees email protection (patent pending) with the potential to revolutionise the way people login and trust web sites.
Jeremy has experience in all aspects of start-up companies. This includes conception, product architecture, software/hardware design & implementation, IP protection (which includes 3 published patents, see www.google.com/patents?q=Jeremy+Wyn-Harris&btnG=Search+Patents), legal analysis, aspects of manufacture, financing, business strategy, marketing and general day to day running of a business. Jeremy holds a Bachelor (Hons) and Masters degree in electrical engineering and is employed as a software and control systems engineer for Caterpillar Trimble Control Technologies. |
