An alternative share/stock market is proposed in which shares are purchased in a company for a set period of time. Only once this time has expired, may the shareholder sell or reinvest the stock.
The fundamental idea behind this to avoid day trades and force people to look at the medium and long term fundamentals of companies. That is, investment is based on company fundermentals instead of market sentiment on any given day. The result is an insulated investments from day to day turmoil that international markets experience.
Companies could provide two classes of stock to accomplish this, and list their 'bond' style shares on this alternate market. |
